We will be able to prescribe loratadine (clarityn) or cetirizine (piriteze), but if you have not taken antihistamines before, we cannot prescribe fexofenadine (telfast).

Are you taking any oral medications for allergies/hayfever?

You should only take one antihistamine tablet a day. Do not mix oral antihistamines. Stick to one anthistamine and take once daily only.

Medically equivalent to Telfast® but around 20% cheaper.
Tablet taken once a day.

Can be used alongside nasal sprays such as Mometasone or Nasonex®.
Higher strength may be suitable for individuals with more severe or persistent allergy symptoms, but if unsure, start with the lower strength.
Drowsiness occurs in around 1% of people. Side effects are rare and include headache, drowsiness, and nausea. These usually subside gradually after starting treatment.

Tablet taken once a day.

Drowsiness is seen in around 1–5% of people. Side effects are rare and include headache, drowsiness, and nausea; these usually improve after starting treatment.
