Sexual health care you can access without embarrassment

Sexual health conditions are common, treatable and nothing to be ashamed of — yet the barrier of embarrassment stops many people from seeking care quickly. Delay matters in sexual health: some infections spread easily, and some become harder to treat if left longer. NewGen Pharmacy's online sexual health service is designed to make accessing care as straightforward as possible, without the awkward face-to-face moment.

Every consultation is reviewed by a UK prescriber and handled by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in Stratford. Specific treatments are only discussed once suitability has been assessed — not promoted publicly — and everything is dispatched in plain packaging.

Conditions and testing we support

If you are not sure whether you have an infection, STI testing is the right place to start — and knowing is always better than guessing. For confirmed or suspected bacterial infections, we treat chlamydia, ureaplasma, mycoplasma genitalium, non-specific urethritis (NSU) and trichomoniasis.

For viral conditions, we support ongoing management of genital herpes and assessed treatment for genital warts. Less commonly known infections such as mycoplasma genitalium require careful antibiotic stewardship — our prescribers are aware of the current treatment guidance and resistance considerations, and will only prescribe what is clinically appropriate.

How online sexual health treatment works

The consultation asks about your symptoms, your test results (if you have them), your sexual history and your general health. A UK prescriber reviews this and, where treatment is appropriate, issues a prescription our pharmacy dispenses. If a test is part of the pathway, you will receive clear instructions on the next step — self-sampling kits, in-clinic testing, or referral to an NHS sexual-health service depending on what is clinically indicated.

Partner notification is an important part of responsible sexual health care for most bacterial infections. Our prescribers follow UK clinical guidelines and will advise you on this as part of your care.

When to go to a sexual health clinic or A&E instead

An online consultation works well for known or strongly suspected infections where you have test results or clear symptoms. If you have significant pain, swelling, a fever, sores or ulcers you cannot explain, or systemic symptoms such as joint pain or a rash, you should be seen in person — ideally at an NHS sexual-health clinic, which can test, treat and trace partners in a single visit.

For urgent sexual-health advice outside clinic hours, NHS 111 can direct you to the nearest service. If you have severe pain or signs of a serious infection spreading — high fever, feeling very unwell — go to A&E or call 999. Post-exposure HIV prophylaxis (PEP) must be started within 72 hours and is available from sexual-health clinics and some A&E departments; it is outside the scope of our online service.
